Spa Saunas
Discover your perfect sauna experienceDiscover a new era of sauna
For Finns, sauna is a natural way to recover and care for overall wellbeing. In the gentle warmth of the sauna, the body relaxes, the mind becomes calm and the rush of everyday life is left outside the sauna room.

Explore our new saunas
In March 2026, five new experiential themed saunas were opened at Naantali Spa, bringing new atmospheres, sensory experiences and moments of relaxation to sauna bathing. With the addition of these saunas, the spa’s sauna area now offers an even more diverse experience where traditional Finnish sauna culture meets a modern spa environment.
Find your favourite among our saunas and enjoy a sauna experience that feels just right for you. Read more below.
Kataja | 80 °C
Juniper sauna
The Kataja sauna is a traditional Finnish sauna located in the women’s shower area. The benches and walls are made of ecological kiri wood, while the ceiling panel crafted from juniper discs releases the fresh scent of juniper.
Juniper has long been part of Finnish sauna tradition, as its branches have historically been used in saunas to add fragrance and gentle aroma. The warmth of the sauna combined with the natural oils of juniper refreshes and calms both body and mind.
The aromatic compounds of juniper oil may also gently support breathing and circulation, creating a holistic sense of wellbeing.
Päre | 80 °C
Traditional wood sauna
The Päre sauna is a traditional Finnish sauna located in the men’s shower area. The split-wood paneling used in the walls and benches highlights Finnish sauna heritage and a natural atmosphere.
The scent of wood and the warmth of the sauna stove have offered moments of relaxation for Finns for generations. In the familiar and calming environment of the Päre sauna, guests can enjoy a classic sauna experience where gentle heat helps the body relax and recover from tension.
Savu | 80 °C
Smoke sauna atmosphere
The Savu sauna is a unisex sauna where guests can experience the atmosphere of a traditional smoke sauna without soot. Charcoal-black wall panels and benches crafted from dark wood create a stylish and tranquil setting, while the fragrance from the steam infusion evokes the characteristic aroma of a traditional smoke sauna.
Smoke saunas are an important part of Finnish sauna heritage, with roots stretching back centuries. In the Savu sauna, adapted for a modern spa environment, guests can enjoy the same benefits as in traditional smoke saunas: gentle heat helps the body relax and ease muscle tension, while the warmth and aroma create a deeply sensory and immersive experience.
Aroma | 50 °C
Aromatic sauna
The Aroma sauna is a unisex sauna where pleasant warmth combines with the refreshing and calming scent of eucalyptus oil.
The tradition of aroma saunas dates back more than a century, when spa resorts began adding fragrant essential oils to steam to enhance relaxation and wellbeing.
At Naantali Spa, the peaceful atmosphere of the Aroma sauna offers a revitalising experience for both body and mind. The combination of eucalyptus and heat may refresh tired senses, reduce stress, ease congestion and help relieve mild cold symptoms. The gentle steam also supports circulation and can help restore energy and improve concentration.
Suola | 50 °C
Salt sauna
The Suola sauna is a unisex sauna that offers gentle warmth and a relaxing sauna experience that supports skin wellbeing.
Salt has been used for skincare and exfoliation for thousands of years, and the tradition continues today in modern spa treatments. A salt scrub stimulates circulation in the skin and leaves it smoother and brighter.
Combined with the warmth of the sauna, the treatment becomes a relaxing and indulgent ritual for the entire body.
How to use the salt sauna

- Relax in the sauna for about 10 minutes.
- Take a handful of salt and gently rub it onto the skin (avoid the face and broken skin).
